It's 2009, but it's looking a lot like the 1970's: Deep recession, the real threat of stagnation, a credit crunch, and the push for alternative energy - solar, wind, biofuels. Next thing you know they'll be wanting to drop the speed limit to 55 MPH.

The pro-life movement has been pushed to the back of the bus while Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the radical abortion advocates abound in Washington and in seats of power while pro-life advocates are on the outside looking in with their noses pressed against the glass.

Snow and cold in the Midwest is at near record levels, only second to the blizzard of 1978. City and state governments are running huge deficits and scrambling to amend budgets to head off mounting budget deficits and possible defaults.

Many have said that President Obama is similar to FDR or the former President from Illinois Abraham Lincoln, but in reality he is looking a lot like the second coming of Jimmy Carter.

Only time will tell what the future will hold, but you might want to take a good look at the 1970's. It may tell you something of our not-too-distant future.
